Brandon Mackenney
Brandon is a graduate of the Vancouver College of Massage Therapy and is a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT). Having grown up in Abbotsford, he is excited to be part of the team at Abbotsford Sports & Orthopaedic Physiotherapy Clinic.
Brandon developed an interest in massage therapy through receiving treatment for his own work- and sports-related injuries. His passion for helping others is rooted in his background as a certified personal trainer and martial arts instructor. He is committed to creating a safe, welcoming, and inclusive treatment environment for individuals from all walks of life.
During treatment, Brandon utilizes a variety of techniques tailored to each patient’s needs, including Swedish massage, myofascial techniques, trigger point release, active and passive stretching, joint mobilizations, and neuromuscular techniques. He believes in adapting pressure and treatment style to each patient’s comfort level and goals while maintaining clear communication and informed consent throughout care.
In addition, Brandon may incorporate therapeutic exercise, movement education, and home care recommendations when appropriate to help support recovery and long-term function.
Brandon has experience working with a broad range of conditions and populations, including orthopaedic injuries, systemic and neurological conditions, pregnancy, older adults, and athletes. He is dedicated to helping patients move better, recover effectively, and work toward their therapeutic goals.
Outside the clinic, Brandon enjoys spending time with his family, reading, cooking, running, weight training, and keeping up with his very busy toddler.
