Frequently Asked Questions
During your first visit you will be asked for a detailed health history about your area of concern, gynaecology and obstetrics history, lifestyle history, overall health, and any other present or past injuries or illnesses. You will be educated on your pelvic health concern and may be provided with resources and information to give you more knowledge about the area.
You can expect a combination of assessment and treatment techniques including an internal vaginal assessment with your consent.
After a few weeks of treatment (most patients notice improvement of symptoms after 4-6 weeks), clients notice:
- Increased awareness and muscle control in your pelvic area
- Advanced understanding and techniques to better manage symptoms
- Reduction of pain and of the level of incontinence
- Increased mobility of the pelvic area
- Better quality of life due to increased functionality to return to your daily life activities
Your initial pelvic floor physiotherapy appointment should take 40 to 60 minutes. Follow up pelvic health appointments take 40 minutes. If you are unable to fill out the new patient intake form please arrive 20 minutes early to allow time for this.
