Registered Massage Therapy
Dedicated to enhancing your well-being through personalized, evidence-based treatments
At Abbotsford Sports & Orthopaedic Physiotherapy, our Registered Massage Therapists (RMTs) do not just treat symptoms – they seek to understand the root cause of your discomfort to provide lasting relief. We take the time to listen, assess, and create a treatment plan that aligns with your health goals. Are you an athlete who needs a sport recovery massage after a big event? Do you sit at a desk from 9-5 and feel the weight of your head on your shoulders causing strain? Is your low back hurting after a long day of gardening? Regardless of the cause, registered massage therapy can ease your aches and pains.
Registered massage therapy focuses on soft tissue manipulation to enhance muscle performance and promote relaxation of the body’s nervous system. It is a natural form of therapy that promotes healing, circulation, and waste reduction in tissues. All of our RMT’s have completed a diploma program and are in good standing with the College of Complementary Health Professionals of BC.

Frequently Asked Questions
Massage treatment is typically included as an additional benefit by many health insurance policies. Once you submit your plan to us we can let you know how much coverage you have for RMT. We also direct bill to many extended health care plans. Click here to check if we can direct bill to your health care plan.
At Abby Physio you can book the length of your RMT session based on your needs and your RMT’s suggestion. We offer 30, 45, 60, and 90 minute sessions. Your initial visit will be 60 minutes. This time is required to ensure the RMT can take a thorough assessment of your body.
A referral is not needed to schedule a private funded RMT appointment. Some private extended health insurance companies may require a referral prior to your initial assessment in order to reimburse your user/private fees. It is always recommended to call and check before your visit.
