Most extended health plans cover physiotherapy. However each plan is different and may offer more or less coverage for one service than another. Due to privacy reasons, we unfortunately are unable to know your coverage limits. We recommend you call your health plan prior to your first appointment to confirm how much your plan will cover. Any fees incurred over and above your coverage will be charged directly to you.
We can direct bill to many extended health plans. Check if we can direct bill to your health care plan.
Your initial physiotherapy visit will take 40 to 60 minutes. Your follow up appointments will last 30 to 40 minutes. If you are unable to fill out the new patient intake form please arrive 20 minutes early to allow time for this.
The number of treatments required can differ from one patient to another, depending on the extent of the issue, various contributing factors, and how the patient responds to treatment. Each condition is assessed individually, taking into account the person, the severity of their condition, and their activity expectations. During your initial assessment, your physiotherapist will provide you with a tailored treatment plan. This plan will outline a timeline, treatment goals and include a strategy for transitioning out of treatment.
A referral is not needed to schedule a private and MSP funded physiotherapy appointment.
No referral is needed for your initial ICBC or WorkSafe BC appointment. However, after a few months of treatment, you may need one. Our front desk staff will inform you if and when a referral becomes necessary.
Some private extended health insurance companies may require a referral prior to your initial assessment in order to reimburse your user/private fees.
It is always recommended to call and check before your visit.
