Your First Visit

What to expect at your first visit at our clinic?

During your initial visit one of our practitioners will ask you questions about your concern, health history, daily activities, goals, and lifestyle. They will then typically assess your posture and movement patterns, including how walk, run, and transition from sitting to standing. Additionally, they will evaluate your strength and range of motion in the affected area and perform special tests to determine the root cause of your injury. It is important to understand that the area where you are experiencing symptoms may not necessarily be the source of the problem; often multiple areas of your body can contribute to your pain or discomfort.

You and your physiotherapist will collaborate to explore various treatment options tailored to your needs. Together, you will discuss what to expect during your sessions, your active role in the recovery process, and create a comprehensive exercise program that includes both clinic- based and home exercise program.

When you visit your physiotherapist, it’s crucial to share details about the activities you engage in at work and during leisure. This information helps your therapist:

  1. Understand Injury Impact: Assess how your injury affects your daily abilities and activities.
  2. Resume Modified Activities: Provide guidance on when and how to safely return to a modified program of work or other activities.
  3. Complete Resumption of Activities: Determine the right time for you to fully resume your previous activity levels safely.
  4. Injury Prevention: Offer advice on strategies to prevent similar injuries from occurring in the future.

By understanding your lifestyle and activity levels, your physiotherapist can create a personalized treatment plan that supports your recovery and helps you regain optimal function.
