Vestibular Conditions / Vertigo
Vertigo is the sensation of feeling dizzy or experiencing spinning which can cause nausea, vomiting, or decreased balance.
Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo or BPPV is the most common cause of vertigo and often makes you feel like the room is spinning, especially when changing positions (for instance when rolling over in bed).
- BPPV is caused when tiny calcium crystals in the inner ear become dislodged.
Signs and symptoms of a vestibular condition like BPPV include:
- feeling like you are spinning
- feeling like you are spinning or dizzy when changing positions like rolling over in bed
- loss of balance
- nausea accompanied by feeling of spinning
- loss of balance
- difficulty walking due to feeling like the world is spinning around you
